Is Your Life Balanced or Do You Need an Alignment?

Are you living in balance.

Last Sunday, on Father’s Day, my husband, Ken and I went bicycling in Granville, Ohio. This is the home of Dennison University. It was a beautiful day and the bike paths were great. It was renewing to be out in nature ‘away from it all.’ I’m so glad that we took the time out of our busy life to schedule some time for fun. It was well worth it!

Is your life balanced or is it out of balance?

When is the last time you actually scheduled some fun or some leisure time?

Are you able to sit and do nothing or are you always busy doing something?

Do you feel burned out because you work too much?

In today’s world, most people (women especially) are so very busy. They are busy sending emails, answering emails, texting, blogging, returning phone calls, paying bills, parenting, shopping, doing laundry, cooking, cleaning…………sometimes, it can be challenging to balance it all. Does it feel like life is going so fast and that you are not getting to spend time on people or things that matter most?

There was a time when I thought…“I can’t wait until I get everything done and then I will get to relax.” Guess what? “IT” doesn’t ever get all done!! There is always more to do.

Here are some suggestions for achieving BALANCE in your life:

Create a ‘Walk the Talk’ list for each LIFE CATEGORY:
Ie. Health

  1. I have made regular aerobic exercise a part of my life
  2. I have joined a health club
  3. I choose low-fat food regulary
  4. I drink eight glasses of water a day

Write things down. Once you have written something down, let go of it knowing that it is on your list.
Practice being in the present moment. By not being in the past or the future, you will enjoy each moment.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  1. What things, if I did them, would change my life?
  2. What am I truly longing to take on?
  3. What would give me joy once I complete it?
  4. What practices do I want to make a regular part of my life?

Be sure to schedule all priorities on your calendar. This means everything, not just the work stuff. If you want more relaxation, schedule a massage; if you want to take an art class, sign up for one; if you want time with your friends, organize a ‘girl’s night out.’
