How to GLOW and be FIRED-UP
May 1, 2009
Spring is finally here. I love this time of year. Something new and beautiful pops up
in my flower beds every day. Do you believe I have had poison ivy twice already! I am looking forward to planting a vegetable garden again this year (this will be my second year). I am also looking forward to cook-outs, walking my dog, Buddy, and having both of my daughters home for the summer. Jess is coming home from her first year at Bowling Green; this is Jenn’s last summer before going to University of Kentucky in the fall. I can’t believe it. It seems like yesterday that they were babies. I am hoping there will be lots of evenings around the firepit with the girls and their friends. I am also looking forward to visiting my oldest brother and his wife in New Hampshire and going on bike rides with my husband, Ken. It’s great to be outside again and feel the sunshine!
“How to Glow and Be Fired-Up“
I had the privilege of being in the room with a bunch of wonderful women who attended my workshop. These women ARE truly amazing and are great examples of what it’s like to GLOW and be FIRED-UP!
Here is what I witnessed. (more…)
TOP TEN reasons to create a Vision Board
March 7, 2009
I feel such warmth in my heart when I think about those who attended my recent Vision Board Workshops. They were so inspiring and they got so inspired!! WOOHOO!! I am proud of them because they learned, stretched, grew and created the VISION FOR THEIR LIFE. They were POWERFUL. I truly believe doors will open and “coincidences” will occur now that they have put their vision out there.
TOP TEN reasons to create a vision board:
- Anything creative quiets your mind. What a great place to be!
- You get so involved. At the last workshop, I had to pull people away to get them to stop.
- A picture is worth a thousand words. With a vision board, you get to SEE your vision. It is so exciting!
- Creating a vision board takes you out of your left brain and puts you in your right brain.
- It is the “law of attraction” at work. It is a way to put out into the universe what it is you want to manifest.
- A vision board can be a “structure” for taking you where you want to be. If you feel stuck or is you feel fear, stand in front of your vision board and go to that place in all of the pictures. Get empowered and out of your “stuck” perspective.
- Manifesting begins when you get into the feeling and the excitement as if your vision is already here. A vision board gets you into the excitement.
- Creating a vision board helps you to clarify what it is that you want.
- Your values and priorites become clear when you create a vision board.
- It gets you fired up about what you want to consciously create in your life!
Plus it is FUN!

“GLOW” is a powerful word that is often used by women praising women who exude grace, confidence and strength. GLOW is unique in that, while it is invisible, women can see it, and while it can’t be touched, women can feel it.”
Have you been wanting to do your Vision Board
and haven’t made the time to do it?
- Do you need CLARITY of your vision?
- Would it motivate and empower you to SEE PICTURES of your vision every day?
- How often do you take the TIME to plan what you want to manifest?

How to Survive Baby Birds Leaving the Nest
February 26, 2009
I have two baby birds that will be leaving the nest shortly. One will leave this August; the other will leave next August. As I have been making college visits and going to orientation, many feelings are surfacing. I am excited for my daughter leaving for college; I am also sad that I won’t see her every day. I am happy and proud of her and the woman she is becoming; I also feel sad that she won’t need me as much. I am looking forward to all of her growth, joys, successes and experiences; I also am afraid that she will fall and get hurt and maybe break a wing. It is truly a bitter sweet time.
Life as I have known it is changing. I am entering a new phase of my life. If you have a baby bird leaving the nest, you understand how I am feeling.
Are you asking yourself any or all of these questions?
___ Wasn’t it just yesterday that I built and gathered things for the nest?
___ How did time fly by so quickly?
___ Is my baby bird still going to need me?
___ Will my baby bird be able to fly on her own?
___ What am I going to do with all of my time now that no birds are in the nest?
___ Where did all of my friends go while I was in the nest with my baby birds?
___ What do I and her dad have in common besides our baby birds?
___ What do I want for myself in this next phase of my life?
If there is one thing I have learned it is that I get to choose HOW I view situations. I also know that HOW I view a situation affects what gets created from the situation. I could view this new phase of my life as scary and sad OR I could view it as exciting and opportunistic. I choose to be in the perspective that this new phase is exciting and it is an opportunity. I choose to create from this perspective. If you also choose this perspective or one similar, then read on.
Here are some ways to keep this perspective alive:
Start a hobby doing something that you’ve always wanted to do
Take a class on your own, with a friend or with your spouse
Plan a vacation to some exotic place
Start a progressive dinner club—invite some ‘old’ friends and invite some ‘new’ friends
Write out your vision of how you want your next phase of life to be. Be specific.
Re-kindle or kindle a dream of yours
Make a list of books and read them
Plan, do and complete a home improvement project that you haven’t had the time to do
Go to lunch each week with an old friend you haven’t seen in a while
Have a get-together with other empty-nesters
Make a list of all the fun things you want to do and start doing them RIGHT NOW!
“We all have many gifts that we’ve never opened. It’s time to open some of yours. Find your wings!” Dan Zadra
Growing Your Dream Garden
August 18, 2008
I was watering my vegetable garden this morning and I was thinking about everything that went into making this garden what it is. Initially, I had the dream of having a garden. But first, I had to find a place where it would receive sunlight. I had to dig up the dirt, break it up and also put in some new rich dirt. I had to buy the vegetable plants, plant them, stake some of them up and water and feed them on a regular basis.
I have a “Shake ‘n Feed” all purpose plant food that provides continuous release of nutrients. I also have to pull out the weeds regularly. From this garden will come lots of great tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, lettuce and strawberries. I am so excited. I can’t wait to be able to go out and pick fresh vegetables from my garden! I will really enjoy these “fruits of my labor.” (more…)
